I continue to appreciate your project of decentering Seattle and Nirvana from the history of alternative music--it's so important! I'm curious to think about Xtrabeats in the context of the larger club culture of Cincinnati/Dayton (in part, because they all were such an important part of my life): Beat Club, the Warehouse, 1460 in Dayton, the Red Zone, the Jockey Club...there were a blessed lot of places to dance to Wax Trax music in the late 80s/early 90s. Just as I've been feeling gratitude for Crazy Ladies Bookstore lately, recognizing how lucky I was to have such a good feminist bookstore in Cincinnati, so was I incredibly lucky to have so many places to go dance to Ministry.
